If you’ve ever been on a committee planning a school fundraiser, you know the budget conversation never gets easier. Every line item gets scrutinized. Entertainment feels like a luxury. And yet, your guests’ experience is what drives ticket sales, donations, and whether people come back next year.
Here’s what we’ve figured out after working with schools and nonprofits across Michigan: a photo booth rental for a school fundraiser doesn’t have to be an expense. When it’s set up thoughtfully, it becomes a sponsored experience that pays for itself and then some.
We got to see this play out firsthand at the Foundation for Saline Area Schools’ annual fundraiser, Let The Good Times Roll held at Weber’s Boutique Hotel in Ann Arbor. Here’s how it came together, and what it can look like for your event.

Before we get into the details, it’s worth knowing who we were working with. The Foundation for Saline Area Schools has been privately funding enrichment activities, educational initiatives, and district-wide goals since 1987. They’re a nonprofit that fills the gaps public school budgets simply can’t, awarding an average of over $100,000 in grants annually across eight schools and programs. Every dollar raised at their events goes directly back to Saline students.
So when they host a fundraiser, the energy matters. The experience matters. And they needed it to feel elevated and not like a bake sale with a bounce house.

This was actually our third time working with this host, which meant we came in already knowing the rhythm of how they like to run their events. That history made it easier to refine the experience rather than start from scratch.
For Let The Good Times Roll , we brought in our Snap + Print photo booth experience. The event had a Mardi Gras theme, so everything was built around that. From the curated prop selection (bold masks, festive accessories, the whole deal) to the fully branded photo overlay and Tap to Start screen.
That Tap to Start screen is the first thing guests see when they walk up. It’s not just a static placeholder, it’s a full attract screen with colors, motion, and a themed design that draws people in. Guests tap, choose their experience (photo, GIF, or video), and the fun starts. At this event, we kept it to photos, which fed perfectly into the print experience.

The host brought a beautiful drapped background that fit the theme just perfect!
Here’s the piece that most school fundraising committees don’t think about until someone brings it up: a sponsor can cover the cost of the booth entirely.
Instead of the foundation absorbing the expense, they brought in a sponsor whose branding was woven throughout the experience. And not in a clunky, banner-on-a-table kind of way. In a way that actually gave the sponsor real, measurable visibility.

Here’s every touchpoint where the sponsor showed up:
The Tap to Start screen. This is prime real estate. It’s the attract screen and the thing looping all night that pulls guests toward the booth. The sponsor’s logo was there, front and center, before anyone even took a photo.
The photo overlay. Every single print that came out of this booth had the Foundation’s branding and the sponsor’s logo on it. Every one. These aren’t digital images people scroll past, they’re 4×6 prints placed inside sleek black photo folders that guests actually take home. That’s tangible, lasting brand visibility sitting on someone’s kitchen counter or tucked into their bag.

The digital share message. When guests texted or emailed their photos to themselves, which almost everyone does, they received a custom message referencing the sponsor by name. It’s a personal touchpoint that extends the sponsor’s reach beyond the event room and into guests’ phones.
Sponsor signage at the booth. Physical signage at the booth itself reinforced the partnership in real time, right where the energy was highest.
That’s not one or two impressions. That’s a full loop of brand exposure, before the photo, during the experience, in their hands at the end of the night, and on their phone the next morning.
Good event flow is something we think about a lot, because the booth should work with your program and not compete with it.
At Let The Good Times Roll , guests arrived to a buffet-style dinner, which kept energy casual and social right from the start. The booth was open during arrival and cocktail hour, which is exactly when people are warm, mingling, and looking for something fun to do.

When the live auction kicked off, we went into an idle hour. That’s intentional. You don’t want anything pulling attention away from bidding. Once the auction wrapped, the booth came back up, bringing a second wave of energy into the room.
The dueling pianos were running throughout the night, which meant the vibe never really dipped. The booth and the entertainment fed each other. Guests would leave the dance floor, grab a photo, show their friends on the TV gallery display (yes, every photo populated live on a screen in the room), and then head back out. The loop kept running all night.
Whether your event is a formal gala or a lively themed night like this one, here’s what the Snap + Print experience actually includes:
Professional DSLR photography, not a tablet camera, not a webcam. Real camera, real lighting, real quality. A fully custom photo overlay designed to match your event’s branding and theme. Instant 4×6 prints delivered in black photo folders guests keep. Live gallery display so the room can see photos in real time and the energy builds on itself. Digital sharing via text and email, with custom branded messages. And if you have a sponsor, every one of those touchpoints becomes a branded moment.

We handle the design, the setup, the flow, and the experience from start to finish. You focus on your guests and your mission.
A photo booth rental for a school fundraiser works best when it’s designed with intention, not just dropped in as an afterthought. The right setup turns a line-item cost into a sponsored guest experience that keeps people engaged, gives your sponsor real value, and sends guests home with something they’ll actually hold onto.
We’ve worked with schools, foundations, and nonprofits across Michigan and we know how to make it work within the realities of a fundraising budget.
